Privacy Policy

Takshila Institute Jagadhri is trusted with the personal details of students and parents every day. This policy explains — in plain language — what we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and the control you have over it.

At Takshila Institute Jagadhri, families share their most personal details with us — a student's name, a parent's phone number, a child's academic goals. We treat that information the way we would want our own family's information treated: collected only when needed, used only for the purpose it was given, and never sold to anyone. This policy applies to takshilajagadhri.com, our enquiry forms, and our student portal.

1 Who We Are

Takshila Institute Jagadhri ("Takshila", "we", "us" or "our") is a coaching institute preparing students for IIT JEE, NEET and school foundation examinations, operating since 1998 from Jagadhri, Yamuna Nagar, Haryana.

For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Takshila Institute Jagadhri is the Data Fiduciary — meaning we decide why and how your personal data is processed, and we are accountable for it. Our registered address and contact details are given in Section 14.

By using this website, submitting an enquiry form, or enrolling with us, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please do not submit your information to us.

2 Information We Collect

We deliberately keep data collection to a minimum. We do not ask for Aadhaar numbers, bank details, or any payment information through this website.

a) Information you give us directly

When you fill the enquiry or counselling form on our website, we collect exactly the following fields:

InformationRequired?Why we need it
Student's full nameRequiredTo address the student correctly and maintain the enquiry record
Parent's / guardian's nameRequiredBecause most of our students are minors and counselling happens with parents
Mobile numberRequiredTo call or WhatsApp you back with counselling and admission details
Email addressOptionalTo send course brochures, schedules and written follow-ups
Current classRequiredTo recommend the right batch and course level
Course of interestRequiredTo route the enquiry to the correct academic counsellor
Message / queryOptionalTo answer the specific question you asked

We also collect the date and time your enquiry was submitted, so our counsellors know how fresh it is.

b) Information collected at the centre

If you proceed to admission, we collect further details offline at our centre — such as the school attended, previous academic marksheets, date of birth, residential address, and photographs for identity cards. These are collected on paper or in person, not through this website, and are governed by this same policy.

c) Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting server automatically records basic technical information for security and reliability: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring page. This is standard server log data and is not used to build a marketing profile of you.

We never ask for payment details online. Takshila does not accept fees through this website. If you receive a call, message or link claiming to collect Takshila fees online, please verify it by calling us on +91 89014 84127 before paying anything.

3 How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide only for the purposes below — the purposes for which you gave it to us:

  • Responding to your enquiry — calling or messaging you back about courses, fees, batch timings and admission procedure.
  • Free counselling — helping you or your child choose between IIT JEE, NEET, Foundation, Crash Course or Dropper batches.
  • Admission processing — creating the student record, allotting a batch and issuing an identity card.
  • Academic communication — sharing test schedules, results, parent-teacher meeting notices, holiday notices and study material updates.
  • Parent updates — informing parents about attendance, test performance and progress of their ward.
  • Improving our website and courses — understanding which courses students ask about most, in aggregate.
  • Legal and safety obligations — meeting any requirement under applicable Indian law.

What we will never do: we do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any other coaching institute, publisher, lead-generation agency, advertiser or data broker. Ever.

4 Students Under 18 (Children's Data)

Most of the students we teach are below 18 years of age, and we take that responsibility seriously.

  • Our enquiry form deliberately requires a parent's or guardian's name alongside the student's, because we expect enquiries for minors to be made or authorised by a parent.
  • If you are under 18, please do not submit the form yourself — ask your parent or guardian to fill it in, or to sit with you while you do.
  • In line with the DPDP Act, 2023, we process a child's personal data only with verifiable parental consent, and we obtain written consent from parents at the time of admission.
  • We do not use a child's personal data for behavioural advertising or tracking of any kind.
  • We do not undertake any processing that is likely to cause a detrimental effect on the well-being of a child.

If you believe a child's information has reached us without parental consent, write to us at munish.goyal@takshilajagadhri.com and we will delete it promptly.

5 Cookies & Website Technology

Our website is intentionally light on tracking. We do not place advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking scripts of our own.

However, some cookies may be set by the third-party services embedded on our pages — for example, the Google Maps panel on our contact section, or the YouTube videos in our gallery. These are set by those providers under their own privacy policies, and are listed in Section 6.

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Our website will continue to work normally — only embedded maps and videos may be affected.

6 Third-Party Services We Use

To keep the website fast and useful, we rely on a small number of well-known third-party services. When a page loads, your browser may connect directly to these providers, and they may receive your IP address and basic device information:

ServiceUsed forWhat it may receive
Google FontsWebsite typographyIP address, browser type
Google MapsShowing our centre's locationIP address, map interactions
YouTubeEmbedded gallery videosIP address, video viewing data
Cloudflare CDNServing website iconsIP address, browser type
WhatsAppChat button & enquiry repliesYour phone number & chat content
Web hosting providerStoring the website & enquiry databaseAll data submitted through the form

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy. Clicking a social media icon or an external link takes you off our website — we are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate.

Our student portal at apps.takshilajagadhri.com is a separate login-protected system for enrolled students. Data there — attendance, test scores, study material access — is used purely for academic delivery and is visible only to the student, their parents, and authorised Takshila staff.

7 When We Share Information

Your information stays within Takshila. We share it outside the institute only in these limited situations:

  • With parents or guardians — a student's academic records, attendance and performance are always available to their parents.
  • With our service providers — our hosting company and communication tools, strictly to run the services described above, and only to the extent necessary.
  • With examination or affiliation bodies — where a student's details must be forwarded for a scholarship test, mock test series or official registration, with your knowledge.
  • Where the law requires it — in response to a valid order from a court, law enforcement or government authority.
  • To protect people — where sharing is genuinely necessary to protect the safety of a student, our staff or the public.

Everyone at Takshila who handles student data is instructed to keep it confidential and to access it only when their role requires it.

8 Photographs, Results & Publicity

Like most institutes, we celebrate our students' achievements — on our website, in our gallery, on social media, and in print advertisements.

  • We publish a successful student's name, photograph, rank and course only with the consent of the student and their parent or guardian.
  • Consent for publicity is obtained separately from consent for admission, and giving it is always optional — refusing it does not affect a student's classes, results or treatment in any way.
  • If you have previously agreed and now wish your photograph or result to be removed from our website or social media, write to munish.goyal@takshilajagadhri.com and we will remove it from material we control as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Photographs taken at classroom sessions, seminars and events may show students in groups; please tell us in advance if you do not wish to appear in such photographs.

9 How We Protect Your Data

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe:

  • Our website is served over HTTPS, so information you type into the enquiry form is encrypted in transit.
  • Enquiries are stored in a database that is not publicly accessible; reading them requires an authenticated staff login.
  • Access to student and enquiry records is limited to authorised Takshila staff who need it for their work.
  • Database credentials are stored as protected secrets, never inside the public website code.
  • Physical records at our centre are kept in the administrative office with restricted access.

That said, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs, we will act promptly to contain it and inform affected persons and the relevant authority as required by law.

10 How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep personal data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for:

Type of recordKept for
Website enquiries that did not lead to admissionUp to 24 months from submission, then deleted
Enrolled student academic recordsDuration of the course plus a reasonable period afterwards, so that certificates and result verifications can be issued
Financial and fee recordsAs long as required under applicable tax and accounting law
Website server logsShort term, as retained by our hosting provider

You may ask us to erase your data sooner — see Section 11. We will honour the request unless a legal obligation requires us to retain the record.

11 Your Rights & Choices

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights over your personal data. Parents may exercise these rights on behalf of their child.

Right to Access Ask us what personal data of yours we hold and how it is being used.
Right to Correction Have inaccurate or incomplete details — a wrong phone number, a misspelt name — corrected or updated.
Right to Erasure Ask us to delete your data when it is no longer needed and no law requires us to keep it.
Right to Withdraw Consent Withdraw consent at any time — for example, to stop receiving course updates or to be removed from our calling list.
Right to Grievance Redressal Raise a complaint with us about how your data has been handled, and receive a response.
Right to Nominate Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these rights, email munish.goyal@takshilajagadhri.com or call +91 89014 84127 with your name, mobile number and what you would like us to do. We will verify your identity — to make sure we are not acting on someone else's request about your data — and respond within a reasonable time, ordinarily within 30 days.

Exercising these rights is free of charge.

12 Calls, SMS & WhatsApp Communication

When you submit the enquiry form, you are asking us to contact you — so our counsellors will call, message or WhatsApp you about the course you enquired about. That is the whole point of the form, and we usually respond within a couple of hours during working hours (Mon–Sat, 8 AM – 8 PM).

  • We contact you about courses, admissions, tests and academic matters — not about unrelated products or offers from other companies.
  • You can ask us to stop calling or messaging at any time. Simply tell the counsellor, or email munish.goyal@takshilajagadhri.com with "Do Not Contact" in the subject line.
  • If you stop enquiry communication but remain an enrolled student, we will still send essential academic notices — test dates, results, fee reminders and safety notices — since these are necessary to deliver the course.
  • Messages sent over WhatsApp travel through WhatsApp's own systems and are subject to its privacy policy.

13 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — to reflect a change in how we work, a new service we introduce, or a change in the law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will make reasonable efforts to inform you directly. We encourage you to review this page occasionally. Continuing to use the website after an update means you accept the revised policy.

14 Contact Us & Grievance Redressal

If you have a question about this policy, want to exercise your rights, or wish to complain about how your personal data has been handled, please reach out. Every grievance is acknowledged and taken seriously.
